Welcome!

Abroad American is a site dedicated to travel, living abroad, lifestyle, and much more. I created the site, and most of the content is written by me. The point of the site is to share my knowledge, experiences, and perspectives so you can learn from them, and for you to share yours with all of us.

Yo.

I'm Tom - gratuitous selfie, I know, sorry. Just wanted to say hello, and welcome to Abroad American!

Travel

Whether it be abroad or back in the States, it’s travel and I love it. Everything from touring across Europe, to camping, hiking, and road trips.

Leaving the driveway that morning was, by far, one of the best decisions I ever made. This trip was absolutely unforgettable. Read more…

A Master’s Degree in Germany

Obviously, a big part of my experience abroad, and therefore one of the site’s main topics, is getting a master’s degree in Germany. It’s been a huge shift from my 9-5 engineering job, but I’ve not only expanded my formal education, but learned many more important lessons in the meantime, too. Read more…

Get in Touch

I’d love to hear from you! To get in touch, you can use the form on the Contact page, or write an email directly to the address below. You could also comment on a post, message me on any of my social media pages, or even write me through snail mail. Please, postcards only, I can’t accept anything I’d have to sign for. I’ll be super excited if I get an actual piece of mail from someone.

Regardless of how you choose to interact with me, I want to emphasize how much I appreciate it. Hearing from you really helps me see and understand other points of view or perspectives out there. So, big kudos in advance.
